What’s on Kristen Bell's Shopping List? These 10 Holiday Essentials

By Kristen Bell

I typically do a lot preparation and very little day-of execution. My sister-in-law, who is a great cook, helps me plan out our recipes, and we go to Whole Foods Market together to stock up. More than anything, I want to create a space in the kitchen that’s fun and experimental. I get so inspired when I see better, more sustainable, more inventive products that I can use in my kitchen.

Here are my top 10 holiday entertaining essentials:

1. 365 Everyday Value® Cage-Free Eggs

Perfect for baking or French toast mornings. Plus, it’s important to me that the hens have a good quality of life.

2. 365 Everyday Value® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Chips

A definite must-have. I’m from the Midwest, and I love making buckeyes (peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate) with my daughters.

3. 365 Everyday Value® Sparkling Water

A great add to your bar cart. Perfect for cocktails or mocktails because they come in lots of different flavors.

4. 4th & Heart Ghee Butter

Ghee is a clarified butter that has a higher smoke point, so it’s perfect for recipes that call for higher temperatures. I use it when I’m roasting squash and other vegetables.

5. Organic Sweet Potatoes

Pie, casserole or just roasted and plain — I love anything that a sweet potato does. Organic produce is grown without toxic or persistent pesticides.

6. Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog

I love geeking out about cheese with the experts behind the counter. I like to get a couple different options to build a good board, but this goat cheese is always a winner.

7. Maldon Sea Salt Flakes

Perfect for finishing off your turkey or favorite sides. Also great for adding a little something extra to caramel or chocolate desserts.

8. Marcona Almonds

Love these. They’re an easy and delicious way to take your cheese board to the next level.

9. Bob’s Red Mill Organic Coconut Flour

My husband is gluten-free, and I love the challenge of adapting my favorite recipes — pie, cookies, strudels — so he can eat dessert, too.

10. Whole Trade® Flowers

A simple bouquet is the perfect centerpiece for your table. I love that Whole Trade® Flowers also benefit the communities they’re sourced from.
